Marshall Heights was one of the former U.S. Army housing areas in Kitzingen and home to many American military families during the years of U.S. Army presence in Germany.

Unlike the operational areas of the nearby barracks, this residential community represented the everyday life of soldiers and their families. These photographs preserve the atmosphere of a once active American neighborhood and document the former housing area after the end of U.S. Army use.

Access to Marshall Heights was only possible once through the Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA). No additional access was granted by the City of Kitzingen, making these photographs a rare documentation of this former American community.
