Health Clinic Würzburg - 1 year after the closure
[through the fence]
The 33rd Field Hospital ran the Würzburg Army Hospital — a full-on, brick-and-mortar Army med facility with roughly 350 beds, covering the whole Würzburg MSA. The place patched up just about everyone in the neighborhood: 3rd ID troops, the Northern Bavaria Support crew, and DAC personnel whenever things went south.
They lowered Old Glory for the last time on 19 October 2007. A few months later, on 16 January 2008, the garrison turned the whole footprint over to the German real estate agency, BImA.
These shots were taken about a year after the flag came down — just a few glimpses through the fence of a once-busy hospital settling into its post-Army sleep while nature slowly started taking the place back.
