Health Clinic Würzburg - during the rebuilding
The 33rd Field Hospital ran the Würzburg Army Hospital – a full-up, mission-ready medical facility with around 350 beds, basically the go-to place for anyone in the Würzburg AO. If you were in the area and things went sideways, that’s where you ended up: 3rd ID troops, North Bavaria support elements, DAC folks – everybody.
On 19 October 2007, the Stars and Stripes came down for the last time. A few months later, on 16 January 2008, the garrison officially handed the whole place over to BImA, turning the keys back to the Germans.
These shots were taken right after the renovation and restructuring kicked off in 2009, with the green light from Mai.berg Wohnbau GmbH.
Big shout-out to Mai.berg Wohnbau GmbH for making it happen.
